Andalusia welcomes the Rallye du Maroc caravan
The spread of Covid-19 in Morocco is still very active, and makes the organization of the Rally very difficult at this moment.
Therefore, with a double concern for compliance with the imperative health measures adopted by the Moroccan Government and taking into account the global situation of the Kingdom of Morocco and the Moroccan population, the 2020 edition is postponed until next year.
However, despite the current circumstances, we believe that it is vitally important to keep the discipline of Rally Raid alive, as much as possible, to ensure its sustainability for the benefit of athletes, teams, trainers and all service providers.
It is for this reason that ODC is organizing the Rally of Andalusia from October 6 to 10. The aim is to offer the participants of the Rallye du Maroc a quality alternative event, whose format and conditions will be adapted to the limitations imposed by the global pandemic.
The Rally of Andalusia will consist of a prologue on October 6, and 4 stages of approximately 300 km each, on October 7, 8, 9 and 10. The stages will be organized into 2 specials from 120 km to 150 km that will be ran in turns (cars and motorcycles separated), and stage 2 will offer a special of 300 km to be covered in one go. The route will remain secret until the start of each stage and it will be covered by a roadbook, and the route won’t be marked.
The electronic road book will be distributed as planned to all vehicles in the car, SSV and truck categories for testing before the Dakar.
The Road to Dakar Challenge, which allows you to win an entry for the next Dakar, is still valid in this new event that also continues to be a means for the Dakar Rookies to validate their entry for the Dakar 2021.
All competitors who have already registered for the Rallye du Maroc 2020 and who have made a first payment can, upon written request, either be refunded or be transferred to the new rally, the Rally of Andalusia.
We will assume the incredible challenge of organizing the rally in just two months when it would normally take 8 months. In 15 days, we will communicate all the sporting, logistical and health details of the new Rally of Andalusia and we will shortly update our website so that you can obtain all the necessary information for the Rally of Andalusia.
Thank you all for your understanding and support.
We hope to see you soon in Andalusia for this new adventure, we are counting on you.
